Day C
Approaches to Learning Today:
-I can communicate information about myself and reflect on what my peers share.
Learning Activities:
- Ms. Kirsty will share information about herself and the class expectations this year.
-Next, you will complete a short survey all about you. We will review what I learned about you all next class and answer the questions you wrote to me.
-You will end with a short task that links to our fist unit of work this term.
Due next class:
- Take a piece of lined paper. Write the title ENSOC 7: Unit 1/Lesson 1, your name and the date at the top. Have a little exploration with mind maps, lists, thought-clouds...
Try to define the following with either examples of each or a written definition that would be in the dictionary.
HOT question: What’s the difference? Do they have anything in common?
What is a 'community'? What is 'culture'?
Home Learning:
Bring a picture of you from ages 0-3 and finish the tasks from class. Be ready to share your thinking in teams on Friday.
Approaches to Learning Today:
-I can communicate my thinking about 'community' and 'culture' and then help synthesise our group's ideas into 1.
-I can think critically about how these concepts work together and affect one another, as well as how they relate to me.
Learning Activities:
-10 minutes! We will work in groups of 3 to look at our peer's ideas then use them to create 1 symbol and definition of 'community' and 'culture'. Also give 4 examples for each.
-Next, we will use your baby photos for something secret! Email it to yourself with a current picture.
Complete this timeline using this tool (on Safari or Firefox) and 'snip' on your computer.
Home Learning:
Finish devolving yourself!
Who is Lucy? Find 5 important facts and be ready to share with us. Write on sticky notes, on a notepad or some other tool!
