Day A
Approaches to Learning Today:
-I can reflect on facts I learned about the past to plan an engaging narrative about that time period.
Learning Activities:
Lesson 1
-We will begin class by reading some of The Giver!
-Let's review our first project of the year.
-You will share ideas and plan the work in your books.
Lesson 2
-Your plan will be finished, approved by a peer and you will begin drafting in your Google Ensoc7 folder. Title your work Paleolithic or Neolithic narrative.
Home Learning:
Draft as much as you need to in order to finish by Wednesday.
Day B
Approaches to Learning Today:
-I can reflect on facts I learned about the past to plan an engaging narrative about that time period.
Learning Activities:
-We will finish our drafting today.
Home Learning:
Your work will be peer assessed on Friday. You should bring it finished and printed.
Day C
Approaches to Learning Today:
-I can think critically about peers' work and reflect on what feedback would help them improve, using a rubric.
Learning Activities:
-We will begin with a quick self-review:
Home Learning:
Use the feedback from your peer and Ms. Kirsty to improve your work for Friday and print a copy wth your name, date and title. On Friday we will use the Google app. Lucid Press. Add it to your Drive before you come to class.
Take a look at some National Geographic articles also. Page 23 and 31 have good layouts to be inspired by!
Day E
Approaches to Learning Today:
-I can organise writing into an online publication format and include images to support.
Learning Activities:
-We will begin by looking at simple feature of Lucid Press. You will then format and complete your page for the magazine.
Place the share link on our peer assessment spreadsheet in column 2 just as you did before.
I'll print it in colour for the wall!
Home Learning:
Sign up to Goodreads using your school email. Review a minimum of 15 books you have read in your lifetime. Bring a text to school to read next week- any genre. You may not have a copy on your laptop- a kindle is fine for now, but a hard copy is best!

-highlight all the contextual clues from your time period
